JONAH'S PRAYER

Jonah 2:4 - I said, “I have been banished from your sight yet I will look again toward your holy temple

This is the essence of prayer, any prayer- persistence. Jonah counts on the compassion of God that even though he has been banished from the presence of the Lord, he will yet look to Him. What persistence? What confidence in the unchanging mercies of God? There is hope in no other, there is help in no other except in the Lord’s temple.
A lot of times we have felt the need to give up, many a times we have been at the edge of despair, but the word of God tells us that those who persist receive. In fact persistence is a sign of strong faith. It is the belief that God will make good on His promises.
